    Our recreation and leisure assessment services are designed to help individuals discover, explore, and enhance their leisure experiences. Using standardized tools, qualitative interviews and on-site assessments, gain insight into each individual's unique leisure profile. Whether it's discovering new hobbies, optimizing existing leisure pursuits, or overcoming barriers to participation, our services are tailored to empower individuals to lead fulfilling and balanced lifestyles.

Individualized TR sessions

    Individualized recreation therapy services are catered to individuals across the age spectrum with varying abilities, strengths and barriers. We use the APIE process to achieve positive outcomes.

    Focus Areas: Dementia (Young onset, older adults); older adults with mobility issues or chronic illnesses, Youth and kids with various developmental or neurodiverse conditions.

We believe that recreation and leisure is an important ingredient to a fulfilling and flourishing life at any stage no matter what barriers are present at the moment. Recreation therapy places the individual at the centre of the therapeutic process, this approach acknowledges unique strengths, interests, and needs that facilitate a collaborative journey towards holistic health and fulfillment.

Group sessions & workshops

    Group sessions and workshops are a great way to learn about ourselves, create new connections and share the space with individuals on a similar journey towards growth and change.

    Most groups are co-facilitated with a registered psychologist for a more well-rounded and holistic approach.

Each domain of wellness is crucial for overall well-being, as they contribute to a balanced and fulfilling life. Recreation therapy plays a vital role in enhancing various aspects of well-being by providing tailored interventions and activities that highlight the individual’s strengths and target specific needs.

  • Maintaining one’s physical health is fundamental as it provides the foundation for daily activities and vitality. Recreation activities that focus on this domain may include: Walking, seated exercises, standing exercise, aerobics, aquacise, yoga and tai chi, weight and circuit training, etc.

  • Cognitive well-being encompasses lifelong learning, critical thinking, and creativity, which are essential for personal development and adaptability in an ever-changing world. It’s more than just memory! Even the way we perceive the world through our senses impacts our cognitive health.

    Recreation therapy adapts activities to the strengths of the individual to increase their confidence and facilitate learning. Activities that focus on the wellness domain include: Errorless learning style of facilitation, discussions, bibliotherapy, creative storytelling, board and strategy games, sensory kits, etc.

  • Emotional well-being shapes how individuals experience and navigate their inner and outer worlds. It allows for the expression and management of emotions in healthy ways, fostering resilience, empathy, and positive relationships with oneself and others.

  • Human beings are inherently social creatures, and social connections are vital for emotional support, belonging, and fulfillment. Social wellness strengthens interpersonal relationships, promotes a sense of community, and provides opportunities for collaboration and personal growth.

  • Spiritual well-being encompasses beliefs, values, purpose, and connection to something greater than oneself. It provides a sense of meaning, inner peace, and resilience in the face of life's challenges, guiding individuals in their search for purpose and fulfillment.
